Monnier Wedding

Marjorie Jean Monnier…it just sounds so French. She married the perfect man for her – her soul mate and best friend, Charles, who is, incidentally, French. Guess where they went on their honeymoon? France, of course! You might think they’d be a little stuck-up, but you’d be wrong – nothing could be farther from the truth. They are sweet, lovable, and as down-to-earth as they come. MJ is a yoga teacher and owns her own studio, and Charles works for his family’s farm. They love their friends, dinner parties, being active, the outdoors, playing with their dogs – and, quite obviously, each other. MJ also has a (sadistic) love of the heat. The yoga she teaches is HOT yoga – the room is heated to almost 100 degrees (maybe more), and it doesn’t bother her one bit. In fact, she loves it. This is probably why she chose to get married outside, in June, in Alabama, during one of our hottest summers ever. The venue was Jasmine Hill Gardens (one of my favorite places ever.) We were lucky enough to be able to take plenty of photos before and after the ceremony on the beautiful grounds, because it ended up raining and the ceremony had to be moved indoors – but it didn’t matter. MJ’s grandfather was the officiant, which I loved. It made it feel that much more intimate and special. I wish you two all the best in your lives together. Sara’s about to be a senior at Prattville High. She’s a total sweetheart and a real cutie who is planning on going into nursing like her mom. She brought her awesome boyfriend with her to her session to get a few shots of them together. I say he’s awesome because he’s an Auburn fan! War Eagle!! :-) Also, it was burning hot out and he came to his girlfriend’s photoshoot and was super supportive and never complained. We went to Shakespeare Gardens for her session – enjoy!

Adalyn | Newborn

I am loving these newborn sessions! I have been so lucky to get the sweetest little bundles of joy…Adalyn was just so precious and highly cooperative. And I have to give a shout-out to her sweet parents for being such nice hosts and allowing me to rearrange their living room furniture. Daddy even cooked me up a fresh pot of coffee while I was there! That won big points with me. ;) Enjoy these images of your gorgeous girl (with a gorgeous name)!

Madeline

Everyone who knows me knows I LOVE working with teens and seniors – and this session was one of the most fun I’ve had! Madeline’s mom and grandmother brought her to the session and mom had already scoped out some choice spots at the location the day before – and she did such a good job! It made my job that much easier! And to top it off, they were just fun to hang out with. :) And I don’t know how I get so lucky to get the prettiest clients, but….well, just look at her! Gorgeous!

Jimmy & Becky

This was definitely one of the sweetest weddings I have been to! It took place at Becky’s parents’ lake house at Lake Martin. There’s a little ‘island’ area down a tree-covered path where the ceremony was held. Becky and her brother grew up coming to this property, as it’s been in her family for years, so it has special meaning to all of them. It was just beautiful – all the lush greenery everywhere, with the sun shimmering off the surrounding lake. I thought it was the perfect setting for the intimate and charming affair. Becky looked absolutely gorgeous but remained as laid-back and calm as they come. She and Jimmy seem like the perfect match, and I could really feel the love between them the whole day. They were nothing but sweet smiles and laughter the entire time. Not to mention both of their families were just so down-to-earth and nice, and you could just tell that everyone there was truly happy and supportive of this couple. It was such a wonderful experience to witness and photograph their wedding. I wish you all the best, Becky & Jimmy! Thank you for letting me be a part of your special day.

While taking some bridal portraits, the groom arrived by boat as the bride scurried away to hide in preparation for the couple’s “first look.”

Music is an important part of Jimmy’s family – they all seem to be talented in this area – and his sister played acoustic guitar and sang during their ceremony. Her voice is INCREDIBLE and this part just gave me chills.

Remember how I said music is important to this couple? Well, they proved it by having Clint Darby & Kip Traylor’s band play at their reception. Clint & Kip are some of the most talented musicians in Montgomery, and it was just a bonus for me, getting to listen to them play while I worked. :) Also, Jimmy had written his own song for Becky and they played it for them to dance their first dance as husband and wife to. How romantic is that? This is a couple after my own heart.

No fancy send-off for this chill duo. They stayed and partied the night away with their friends and family, and I drove home feeling all mushy. All the best to you, Becky & Jimmy!!

Do You Love Me?

I had the pleasure of meeting this adorable family for a photo shoot over at Huntingdon a few weeks ago. It was burning hot, even at 9 am, but we had fun and got some great shots nonetheless! These are some of the cutest kids I’ve ever seen (yes, I’m partial to red hair!) and the family resemblance is strong (love that!) Daddy took to singing that song “Do You Love Me….(Now That I Can Dance)” to get baby’s attention and make him smile, and I am so glad he did….it was so cute to watch his little face light up when he heard that! They must sing it a lot at home. :) I had it stuck in my head the whole time I was editing their images. Thanks, guys, for a fun session!

Shelby is the daughter of one of my oldest friends. I’ve known her since before she was born. When she was little and couldn’t say my name, she called me Cole. And now look at her! She loves to be photographed and I love to photograph her, so we make a great team…dontcha think? :)

Evie

First of all…what a fabulous name is Evie? I can’t get over how cute that is. And she absolutely lives up to that name. I had so much fun photographing her – and eating Taco Bell w/her and her beautiful mom (who she looks just like!) afterward….thanks for the burrito, Nicky! :) I hope you and Evie love these images as much as I do!

At this point, some of Evie’s friends from school showed up at the park, so I turned her loose to go play on the playground and do handclaps (Miss Mary Mack-Mack-Mack…..that brought back memories!)

Anna Joy | Newborn

Only 8 days old, and what a joy she was, literally! I could not believe my luck with her – she was the most sleepy, cooperative, and gorgeous baby. :) I enjoyed every minute of her! Cindy & Christian, it was great seeing you again. Thank you for welcoming me into your lovely home. I hope you enjoy these images of your precious newborn daughter.

Love this gown! And I had to include one of sweet Lucy, who supervised the shoot to make sure nothing happened to her baby. :) Dogs rule.
